Metadata
Manage your localized metadata. Translations and tagging.
Metadata has gone from being two lines in a TV schedule to become the primary driver behind customers’ consumption of content.
Having a rich set of metadata for all of your content is key to be able to help your customers discover your content. Having well-structured metadata also helps you to easily and efficiently make your content available in different services.
Using our Metadata module makes it possible for you to easily manage all your metadata in one place regardless of whether the content is to be offered as Linear TV, non-linear, through a third-party service like Apple TV or in different regions and languages.
It holds localised versions of texts, images* for all your different services, deep descriptive information as well as cast and crew data and much more.
* Requires the Asset Management module
Managing images through the metadata module means managing all your program images for all your different services in one place.
You collect all your program images there, select the ones you want for primary presentation of the program, add covers, select the ones you want to make available for the press and more.
All your images are stored in their original high-resolution format (when available) and you can crop and edit the images right in your web browser.
When the images are to be used in your services, they are served by a dynamic image endpoint that always provide images in the right size and proportions.
Please see Assets for more information about the image capabilities.
The workflow helps you make sure all your content has approved metadata and is translated for all the relevant regions.
The easy to use web interface guides your editors and helps them enter the correct data and keep track of their text lengths so that they do not exceed guidelines and distribution platform restrictions.
It has support for templates and features for inheriting metadata that makes managing duplicate content from different sources as well as repetitive series a breeze.
Keeping your content in order is key for it to work in modern services and to give your customers a premium experience making it possible for them to follow your content.
Watching content within a program family like X Factor™ where you want to take your customers from the audition to the real show and the results to end up at your OTT exclusive extension is something that has to be supported all the way by your metadata and program structure.
The Metadata module cover all of these scenarios with support for series, seasons and episodes as well as program families for gathering different series and programs together.
Making sure your content always can be uniquely identified and can be assigned references to third party sources like IMDb™ and EIDR™ is key when you are making content available outside of the traditional TV schedule.
The Metadata module supports adding your own references as well as industry standard IDs where needed.
Managing and enriching your metadata through our Metadata module ensures that you are all set to be able to make your content available on third party platforms like Apple TV and similar with minimum effort.
